Imagine a world where the roar of vintage aircraft engines mingles with excited gasps from the crowd. Imagine many faces, young through to old, thrilled with the nostalgia of bygone times, captivated by the sights and smells of vintage engineering, all packaged up in distinctive historic helicopters and aircraft. Imagine being part of a team that has the unique privilege of bringing these experiences to an adoring audience.
If you can take your imagination just one more step, then consider what it would be like to actually deliver the Historic Army Aircraft experience to a national and international audience. This is exactly what our events team does and we are seeking volunteers to join the team. Right now, we (also) need a new Events Team Manager to help deliver our 2024 programme – we have the aircraft, pilots and a budget ready to go so this is a great opportunity for anyone with an events background or interest to take it on.
The Historic Army Aircraft Flight is a registered charity and like our sister organisations, the (RAF) Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the (Royal Navy) Navy Wings squadron, takes pride in preserving the legacy of aviation through its impressive collection of historic aircraft. All seven of the aircraft at the Historic Army Aircraft Flight are operational and take to the skies at numerous events, captivating audiences while keeping the spirit of flight alive.
So, if you’re a skilled communicator who seeks to combine an enthusiasm for history and aviation with your organisational competencies, joining our team as the Events Manager might just be your perfect flight path.
