Gavin Rundle

Gavin Rundle is a recently retired AAC officer with 26 years of rotary and RPAS/UAS experience. He commanded at all levels, flying the Lynx helicopter on operations and the Gazelle in support of UK homeland resilience. His last command was the British Army Watchkeeper Force – operating the Watchkeeper RPAS in support of UK homeland and NATO operations.

His passion for historic aircraft has manifested in his ownership of several vintage fixed-wing aircraft, including two WW2 Auster MkVs. Gavin led the acquisition process of the HAAF Auster Mk1.

A Board member of the Assault Glider Trust since 2009, Gavin joined the HAAF Board of Trustees in 2017. This linked his interest in promoting Army Aviation heritage to the important work of these charities in the support of veteran wellbeing and other charitable goals.

Recently appointed a FRAeS, Gavin Rundle is now with Leonardo Helicopters. Based at Yeovil in Somerset, Leonardo shares heritage with the Westland Aircraft Company which originally built several of the HAAF aircraft.
